| We will examine local transport history using maps, photographs plus other documentory evidence available. Topics to be covered include turnpikes, roads, railways, maritime (naval and merchant) from 17th century to modern with discussions to put into context.
The student will get an appreciation of the transport of the time with an outline of the historical contexts and where the visible remains can be seen today.

| This area has world class geology of special scientific importance and our tutor has forty years of expertise examining the rock formations and fossils of this area.
The day school is a 4 hour field trip to the Warren, Folkestone to discover the area. A trip back to the cretaceous period to learn how the various rock types in SE Kent were formed, and discuss the fossils they contain. Be prepared for Wet weather and rough terrain.

| This area has world class geology of special scientific importance and our tutor has forty years of expertise examining the rock formations and fossils of this area.
The course will examine the area in detail to achieve an understanding of the local geological history and the fossil fauna that inhabited this region. You will be able to recognise different rock and fossil types, how they were formed and their global context. Hands on sessions with samples will bring the era to life. |
